I can't believe it's already November! The leaves have changed, football is halfway through the season, and Fall television is in full swing. November is bringing us some potentially great films including the latest James Bond and some Oscar-bait. Here is what you can expect this month.
From Marvel Studios comes the sequel everyone has been waiting for. Avengers: Age of Ultron tells of the next threat Earth's Mightiest Heroes must face in Marvel's long running cinematic universe.
Casino Royale was a powerfully fresh start to Daniel Craig's career as Bond. It has everything a Bond film needs: Beautiful locations, seductive women, and plenty of action.
From the studio that brought you movies like Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., and The Incredibles comes another great film, and one that I might add is not only enjoyable, but informative both for kids and adults.
From director Denis Villeneuve (Incendies, Prisoners) comes a new and exciting thriller, Sicario. Kate Macer (Emily Blunt), an FBI agent part of the Special Weapons and Tactics Team, is enlisted to help a government task force with a new assignment.
Based on the novel by James Dashner, The Maze Runner is a thrilling journey about a group of boys trapped in the center of a mysterious maze. One day a new boy named Thomas (Dylan O'Brien) appears, quickly learning his predicament in the maze.
Furious 7 is the latest installment that follows the high speed endeavors of Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his crew. After taking down the international terrorist Owen Shaw (Luke Evans), Toretto and company go back to the United States. Brian O’Connor, his right hand man, starts a family with Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster), Dom’s sister and from there everyone works on ushering back normal lives. However, Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham), Owen’s older brother, is bent on revenge. With Deckard's quest for vengeance in full throttle, Dom must do whatever is necessary to protect his family. Reprising their roles are Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), Tej (Chris “Ludacris” Bridges), Roman (Tyrese Gibson), and Agent Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson).
After plenty of back and forth about the status of the latest installment in the Bourne series, we finally have confirmation that Matt Damon will be reprising his role as the lethal Jason Bourne. The proof? Well, this tweet posted by film producer, Frank Marshall pretty much says it all.
Michael Fassbender has been quite the buzz the last few weeks, first with his first official image as an assassin in the upcoming Assassin's Creed film, and now for a phenomenally gripping trailer for Macbeth.
As a cinema-loving Christian, I am always encouraged by filmmakers who choose to tell a Christ-related story. It is one of those touchy subjects that typically doesn't get a lot of buzz.
