Overall while Dracula Untold is an entertaining movie it does fall short in a few areas that cost the movie as a whole. If you’re a big fan of the character of Dracula in past media and literary interpretations then this may not be the movie for you.
Overall, The Judge was a decent movie to watch despite the shortcomings the story had. I hope to see more acting outside of Marvel from Robert Downey Jr. and I still hope that he’ll be with Marvel for a while. It’s his acting that helped carry a good part of the movie when the story was stilted and because of that it’s worth watching. Go see The Judge and see what verdict you’ll give it once it’s over.
The real issue with this film was how it affected the characters. It was essential for the plot, but I think it really hurt it in the end. Most of the characters were no longer who we remember them to be just a year ago. Many of them received little screen time. Most of that was reserved for crying Katniss. Overall, the film was glum and although it had some strengths, I was mostly disappointed by the lack of progression. Most films have a beggining middle and end, even if it is a lead in film. This film showed no evolution. I am hoping Part 2 will turn it around and show some resolve.
