Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them Final Trailer
If I were to sum up Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them Final trailer, or give it a theme, it would be: Newt Scamander is in over his head, bringing a suitcase full of magical creatures into New York.
J.K. Rowling Brings Back Magic…in the 1920s…
The premise of Fantastic Beasts is that the creatures Scamander brings into New York escape from his suitcase, and he must find them before they cause complete chaos. The main form of chaos here would stem from the tense relations between magical and non-magical communities in 1920s New York.
Unlike what we’ve seen in the Harry Potter novels, the witches and wizards in the U.S. live more in fear of persecution from the non-magical folk, or No-Majs, (the American version of the word “muggle”) compared to their European counterparts.
Wizards and witches in Europe manage to live freely, while still maintaining some form of invisibility. Wizards and witches in the U.S. work hard not be discovered in the slightest bit. In their eyes, this prevents and puts to rest any risk of a possible attack from No-Majs.
Just think Salem witch trials.
Scamander Will Try to Clean Up This Mess
This final trailer conveys the tense relations more, and shows Scamander and company trying to recapture all the creatures. That’s going to be fun.
Scamander looks like he’ll be able to recover all the beasts, but not without causing unrest. Scamander, do you have a plan on how to fix this?
I hope so. I suppose we’ll find out when it hits theaters November 18, 2016.
