Watch: Rogue One Trailer

Join The Rebellion In The Rogue One Trailer

We were all pleasantly surprised this week with the first trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Disney continues Star Wars’ triumphant return in a brand new story set before the original film, Star Wars: A New Hope. We are introduced to Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), a brand new female lead kicking some serious butt throughout the trailer. She is tasked with stealing plans to the all too familiar Death Star before the Empire manages to equip the giant death ray. She is joined by a few bounty hunters who will assist her on her secret mission. The small unit looks to encounter the full force of the Empire in this tense and chaotic war film set in the Star Wars universe.

“This is a rebellion, isn’t it? I rebel.”

It goes without saying that I am extremely excited for Rogue One. Not only are we returning to the era that took our breath away, but we are also receiving a brand new story outside of the Skywalker lineage. This film promises to further expand the Star Wars Universe to great lengths. I’m extremely excited to meet the new bounty hunters played by Forest Whitaker, and Donnie Yen. The new characters will come face to face with several new villains including an elite unit of Stormtroopers and a yet to be named mystery character portrayed by Mads Mikkelsen.

Although we know the ultimate ending to this prequel, I look forward to seeing how the writers further the stories of the new characters introduced in the Rogue One trailer. Who’s to say one of their relatives doesn’t make it into the next few Star Wars films?

What did you think about the brand new Rogue One trailer? Let’s discuss in the comments below!
